Luxury tour operator Elewana is working towards the opening of tented camp in Kenya’s Loisaba Conservancy. The new property in Laikipa District will help develop Loisaba’s primary tourism assets as well as safeguard its role as a critical sanctuary and corridor for elephants and other wildlife.
Built on the site of a former lodge, with support from The Nature Conservancy (TNC), the Loisaba Tented Camp is set to open in March 2016, comprising four stylish and spacious double rooms, one deluxe tented suite and two family tents, each made up of two double en-suite tents with shared verandas.
An exclusive family residence will offer three en-suite rooms complemented with a shared private lounge, dining tent and private pool. The property will also boast a second infinity swimming pool in addition to the private pool, with spectacular views across the Laikipia Plains to Mount Kenya.
The new facility prioritises environmental concerns. TNC works to protect ecologically important lands and waters for nature and people. Elewana maintains a portfolio of lodges, camps and hotels throughout Kenya, constructed and operated with a view to ensuring superior environmental standards by employing, wherever possible, renewal energy resources, local materials, and waste management controls.
