Corning Cable Systems highlights flexibility in fibre solutions

Corning Cable Systems LLC highlighted its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) and wireless deployment solutions recently in Cincinnati. Through exhibits and hands-on demonstrations at the OSP EXPO in Ohio, Corning featured its latest solutions designed for use in outside plant fibre access networks, including FTTH and fibre-to-the-antenna (FTTA) applications. Customers got first-hand experience with Corning’s flexible FTTH deployment solution sets, beginning in the central office and progressing to three preconnectorised methods of reaching the subscriber premises: Distributed Split, Local Convergence, and Branch/Star Topology. Each solution set includes interoperable components that maximise cost efficiency in network designs.
The exhibit also included a section dedicated to Corning’s wireless solutions. Evolant Solutions for Wireless Networks fit into customers’ network deployments and enable service providers to easily install and upgrade wireless networks. Today’s wireless operators face ongoing challenges to supply the coverage and capacity that their customers want, especially for data. This means deployment of 3G and 4G solutions, often in crowded tower and rooftop environments. Corning’s Evolant Solutions for Wireless Networks leverage field-proven solutions to make FTTA deployment a fast plug-and-play operation that can save time and money.
